MyCard, GASH and beanfun: paying for Taiwanese games
If you play on Taiwanese servers, sooner or later the cash shop asks for MyCard or GASH points, and the top-up page only lists local convenience stores and Taiwanese banks.
Three systems, different games
MyCard is the broadest — Garena Taiwan, most Chinese-language MMOs and a long tail of mobile titles accept it. GASH Point belongs to Gamania and covers its own portfolio plus older Taiwanese web games. beanfun! is the Gamania wallet layer that MapleStory TW and Lineage TW top-ups pass through.
Before buying, check which system the game's own top-up page lists. Points do not convert between MyCard and GASH.
Why the foreign card fails
The Taiwanese payment layer is built around convenience-store cash payment, ATM transfer and domestic credit cards with local 3D Secure enrolment. An overseas card usually clears the form and then fails at the bank step, which is why point cards exist as the default route.
A prepaid point serial sidesteps the entire gateway: you enter the serial on the game's own page and the balance appears.
Related Taiwan SKUs
The same wall shows up outside games. Apple Gift Cards and Google Play balance for a TW account, PChome and momo shopping credit, EasyCard transit stored value and Taiwan HSR passes all price in NTD behind local payment.
All of them are region-locked to Taiwan, so a TW serial will not redeem on a Hong Kong or mainland account.
FAQ
Can I use MyCard points on a Hong Kong account?
No. The serial is issued for the Taiwanese system and validates against a TW account region.
Do I get a physical card?
No, you receive the serial number, which is exactly what the game's top-up page asks for.
Which one does MapleStory TW use?
beanfun!, which is funded from the Gamania side. GASH points feed into the same wallet.
